About
The Shalom Jacob Memorial Institute honors the legacy of Rav Shalom Jacob זצ״ל, a revered Talmid Chacham, expert in Shas, Sifrei Rishonim and Achronim, and a partner at a world class law firm, whose life's work was cut short when he tragically passed away at the young age of 61.
Rav Shalom זצ״ל was an איש הספר and his untimely passing left a void in the Torah world and especially in the world of Sefarim. Over decades, he amassed an unparalleled private Sefarim collection and his expertise and knowledge about Sefarim was unrivaled.
The Institute is dedicated to continuing his life's work.

Mission
The Shalom Jacob Memorial Library Project is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Rav Shalom Jacob זצ״ל by organizing, archiving, and digitizing his unparalleled and historic collection of more than 50,000 Sefarim that he amassed over decades. His objective was to use and study the Sefarim, drawing upon them as a critical resource in his efforts to spread Torah scholarship. He would reject any description of himself as a "collector," pointing out that he was a "user." Our goal is to safeguard and expand this historic collection and make it accessible.
